Venturing is high-adventure – fun with friends – leadership development – community service – and more. Designed for young men and women ages 14 through 20, or age 13 and have completed eighth grade, Venturing combines high-adventure activities within a safe social setting.
As a Venturer, youth will join other young adults in planning activities and operating their crew. Venturing is a youth-run program, with adult advisors for guidance, to do what youth like to do – and it’s up to the youth to Lead the Adventure!
Venturing has six experience areas: social, citizenship, service, leadership, fitness, and outdoor. The activities in Venturing help young people become adults, follow their special interests, get skills as leaders, and become good citizens.
Venture Crew 72 was chartered by St. John United Church of Christ, Strasburg, which provided us with a meeting place, leadership selection, and year-round program support. The Crew met an average of two times per month at varying locations for meetings and activities.
Strasburg does not currently have an active Venture Crew. Interested teens and young adults may contact StrasburgScouts(at)gmail(dot)com to share your interest in joining a Crew.
